Heathrow Airport

I haven’t been to Heathrow Airport for a few years and it was great to be commissioned by Access Floors to photograph their work at Terminal 5. On the face of it photographing flooring appears simple, but in reality the subject may not be as engaging as the rest of scene. The trick is to find compositions that show off the subject well while still creating good narrative. With shots like this I always like to included people to add some life to the scene, shutter speeds of around 1/5s give nice levels of motion blur. With such a busy location finding nice photogenic gaps in the flow of people can take a bit of patience.
