Architectural Photography shoot, Harwich
This was a really interesting sea front property in Harwich. The build started back in 2018, the steep slope down to the beach and the compact nature of the site lead to a complex build cut into the hill side. The complex roof form and choice of materials all added to the visual interest.
When Harvey Norman Associates contacted me to commission the shoot they wanted a wide range of shots to use in their portfolio and for competition entries. We decided to spend the whole day there to allow the building to be photographed as the light moved through the interior and transitioned from evening to dusk.
This job was also the first outing for my new 250g drone. I am authorised by the CAA to fly much larger drones commercially but there are lots of restrictions when it comes to using them near people and in built up areas. Recent changes in the regs. have allowed the use of these small drones in much more confined sites. The image quality isn't quite as you can get from a larger drone but I think it is more than god enough and can see me using this drone much more than my larger kit.
